Our chiropractic treatments vary in length from 60 minutes for your initial, to 20 minute follow ups or 30 minutes if you are wanting a little bit more TLC. The evidence based approach that we take incorporates a range of soft tissue work, mobilizations, adjustments, rehabilitation and education. We firmly believe that your complaints cannot be appropriately managed in a 5 to 10 minute treatment, and put our patients goals and care at the forefront. We also offer low level laser therapy, acupuncture and electroacupuncture. Our patients goals are our utmost concern, and these additional "tools" are at no extra cost.

Concussion Assessment

When we ask patients about their physiotherapy experiences, we often hear that they were hooked up to machines, passed off to someone else or left alone to go through the exercises. Physiotherapy appointments at Middlesex Chiro are entirely one to one with the therapist. Your treatment will have a hands on component, as well as 1 to 1 exercise therapy. Every client leaves understanding their injury and with homework to "heal" faster. Our physiotherapist is additionally trained in Acupuncture, Movement Screens and Advanced Manual Therapy. Our handy "at home app" allows us to give you video footage of your exercises, and allows us to track your compliance - so cool!

Alison Wiggers grew up in Whitby, Ontario and moved to London for her undergraduate degree in Medical Science at Western University. She grew up playing competitive soccer, and was drawn to the field of physiotherapy during her undergraduate career after suffering sports injuries that required rehabilitation. While healthcare had always been her career goal, physiotherapy allowed her to combine her interests in science, anatomy, athletics and exercise with her passion for helping individuals meet their functional goals.

Alison graduated from Western University with an Honours Bachelor of Medical Science in 2013, and went on to receive her Masters in Physical Therapy from McMaster University in 2015. Since 2015, she has been working in outpatient community orthopedic physiotherapy.

Alison has done additional post-graduate training in Anatomical Acupuncture, Vestibular and Concussion Rehabilitation, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy (Level 3), External Pelvic Floor Management, Oncology Rehabilitation and Lymphedema Management. She is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.

Her treatment approach focuses on patient-centered, individualized care by combining manual therapy, acupuncture, exercise prescription and sport-specific training. She is passionate about helping people to return to the activities they love and increase their overall function. She believes in assessing the individual rather than just the injury and treating the root cause rather than just the symptoms.

Outside of work, Alison enjoys staying active by lifting weights, playing flag football, and participating in kickboxing and karate. She received her black belt in karate in 2021 and qualified for Team Canada in point sparring in 2023.
